Indus Valley Civilization or major centers of Harappan Civilization

Mohenjo-daro and Harappa in the Indus Valley were the main centers of the Chalco-Bronze Age civilization. The ruins of Harappa were the main centers of this civilization. The Harappan remains reveal the developed and refined form of this civilization. But the development of Harappan culture was not sudden and isolated. From the remains found from the North-West Frontier Region, Balochistan, Sindh and Rajasthan, it is known that before the development of the Indus Valley Civilization, there was such a culture in the Indian subcontinent, which we can consider as an earlier culture of the Indus Valley Civilization. This culture has been termed as 'Prague Harappa' or Pre-Harappan or Early Harappan culture. This civilization was given the name Harappan Civilization because its first remains were found in 1921 in the Harappan region of West Punjab. Two famous archaeologists Rakhaldas Banerjee and Dayaram Sahni discovered the remains of this civilization at Harappa located in Montgomery district of Punjab and Jodaro in Larkana district of Sindh.

The Harappans lived in well-planned cities and had developed the art of writing. Unfortunately we have not been able to decipher the meaning of this script yet. The people of Harappan civilization were also skilled in the field of agriculture and architecture. They probably had trade relations with Mesopotamia and some other countries of West Asia. 2,5000 BC Many civilizations developed in the Nile valley of Egypt, in the Tsingris and Euphantis river valleys of Mesopotamia, in the Hwangao river valley of China, and in the border areas of the Mediterranean Sea and the Asian Sea. Around this time the Indus Valley was also the center of a developing civilization.
